The reason why I find sandcasting so fascinating is that the technique opens for an endless variety when it comes to the creation of the ornaments.
The technique leaves no room for corrections in the duration of the process.
This leads to a more intuitive work process where every decision must be made quickly.
Only when the cast form is completely free of sand, at the very end of the process, I am able to critically evaluate the result.
I’m surprised every time.
I can in many ways characterize the sandcasting process as one that runs on its own. Because when I am half way done with an object, I already know what I want to add or change when doing my next object.
